Apologies to everyone who couldn’t get on the site here for the last 8 hours. The site exceeded its monthly bandwidth allocation a few hours ago and I only discovered the problem now. It’s been resolved. FYI when the typhoon hit the site had been pretty quiet for awhile, and was receiving a few hundred visitors a day. Since the typhoon, the average has been 15,000 – 20,000 a day and that’s what caused the bandwidth to be exceeded. I feel it’s very important that we all continue to share information as the situation evolves in the Philippines. International media is beginning to move on — which makes it more important than ever that we collectively keep bearing witness via blogs and social media. The initial “high drama” phase is beginning to morph into the “long, difficult journey” phase. For the forseeable future I will continue to devote the efforts here to the typhoon aftermath, and relief and rehabilitation in the Philippines. The one exception: Manny Pacquiao. His fight with Brandon Rios has crept up on us, and in these final few days I plan to pay a bit of attention to it. Let’s hope that Manny Pacquiao makes Filipinos and Friends of the Philippines proud at this difficult time.
